Bonjour, je m’appelle Marina. Enchantée !
As I will be your French teacher, I thought I ought to introduce myself so you know me a bit better!
I hold a Master’s degree in Language Learning, with a focus on teaching French as a Foreign Language. I also graduated 15 years ago from Grenoble University in French as a Foreign Language and also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Franche-Comté University in Besançon (my home town!)
I have been teaching ever since.
It all started with me moving with two suitcases to go to live in the beautiful coastal city of Guaymas for 6 months and work with an association there in Sonora, Mexico . I was teaching adult groups and also children in a primary school the association partnered with.
I then moved to England, this time with three suitcases and a French 205 car! Little did I know that it would last 8 years! My car didn’t last that long though!
I worked with the newly founded Vici private language academy in Newbury, UK for 4 years as a French teacher for our 15 first students. It quickly grew and I was promoted as Head of Languages, being part of the management team, and managing a team of 14 teachers. After a while I was made co-Partner of the company which now had 200+ students, children and adults.
We then headed off to pastures new in the new town of Milton Keynes. This was certainly a change of scenery! I had the opportunity there to work with the Alliance Française de Milton Keynes based in beautiful Stony Stratford. Again teaching adults in groups or private lessons, as well as preparing teenage students for their GCSEs, Alevels and IBs.
Meanwhile, I was also teaching half classes in a lower primary school in Bedfordshire. I had a great time instilling an interest in French to pupils from Reception to Year 4, all in a fun and creative way!
We came back to France at the end of 2017. I still teach and have now created my own ‘micro-entreprise’ which I intend to develop, helping more and more students like you discover, love and master French!
And most importantly, support you in being confident with French!
